About the Job: Antero Group is seeking a talented and highly motivated Urban Planner/Designer with experience to join our growing team in Chicago.

This position will provide exposure to a diverse portfolio of urban planning and design projects within the public, private, and civic sectors.

The selected candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams to support a variety of project types including comprehensive plans, geographic information systems, capital improvement projects, corridor studies, sub-area plans, transit-oriented development plans, green infrastructure plans, site master plans, community visioning processes, and others.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: At Antero Group you will: Work in a collaborative, dynamic, and multidisciplinary environment with other professionals that include civil engineers, urban planners, urban designers, public health professionals, and economic development experts.

Be a key contributor to Antero’s Chicago office while also supporting projects in Denver, Dallas Fort Worth, and other market areas.

Apply your knowledge of urban planning and design concepts, methods, and tools to prepare high-quality design outputs including maps, drawings/renderings, graphic illustrations, technical specifications, presentations, web content, and other assets.

Design and facilitate community outreach and engagement activities including visioning workshops, design charrettes, stakeholder meetings, surveys, and more.

Conduct site visits to gather baseline information, confirm the project scope of work and design intent, and support project team members throughout all phases of project delivery.

Assist Antero staff in implementing marketing and business development strategies, including proposals.

Coordinate with Antero Group staff to ensure smooth business operations and project delivery.

Identify opportunities for continual process improvements and innovations.

Contribute to the development Antero Group’s design approach and standards.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and skills: Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.

Excellent writing/editing, research and analysis (qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial), and communication skills.

Strong creative thinking and design skills.

A high proficiency in current design software packages including, but not limited to, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and deliver design solutions for various formats.

A desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative work environment.

Ability to manage multiple long-term projects and immediate tasks, concurrently.

Ability to work well in teams and individually.

Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.

and a current driver’s license.
