Position: Financial Controller Location: Remote/ U.S. only Type: Full-time What is HostGPO? HostGPO is the first group purchasing organization (“GPO”) for the short-term rental industry. Over the past two and a half years, we have acquired thousands of members who collectively manage hundreds of thousands of vacation rental units across the United States and Canada – from AirBNBs to boutique hotels. Through our collective buying power, hosts with as few as 3 units and companies with hundreds of units alike have the potential to save money, streamline their procurement processes, and provide better guest experiences. This is not your typical Controller position. We are growing rapidly and need our Financial Controller to be an expert in creating and implementing all accounting processes, essentially creating the wheel A keen business sense is imperative. This is a startup environment, so this means you’ll be wearing a lot of hats and must be a team player. What will you be doing? Directly participates in key initiatives and strategies to continually improve the quality and efficiency of systems and reporting Responsible for overall accounting operations for the organization Demonstrates strategic thinking in planning for the organization’s short-term and long-term financial future and short term needs Overseeing multi-state compliance / assisting with HR and payroll Optimizing structure for international (AR/AP) Manage bookkeeping and assist with tax preparation Managing vendor-partner reporting relationships Establish systems for better banking in Canada What you’re bringing to the table? 5 years of experience in relevant accounting / financial role Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fields Extremely detail-oriented A startup mode mentality Must be self-driven, someone who excels at multitasking and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude A desire to win and be part of a dynamic team Bonus points: A Master’s degree and or CPA are not required but are preferred Vacation rental industry experience (or real estate) Based in Los Angeles Familiarity with using various software stacks including Slack, HubSpot, Asana, and/or Confluence What are the perks and benefits: Salary: $100k – $160k performance bonus incentives Health Insurance 401(k) Stock Option / Equity in a quickly growing startup Flexible PTO Paid for out-of-work educational experiences (i.e. if you wanted to take a course on the side) Fast career progression opportunities.
