ABOUT THE POSITION The Store The Secret Agent Supply is the storefront of 826CHI.

It has a not-so-secret mission: to raise awareness for 826CHI and support it financially through sales of unique gifts, books, and writing supplies.

All funds raised in the store support the free writing and tutoring services 826CHI provides at its center and throughout Chicago schools.

It also helps recruit volunteers, donors, students, and community partners.

The Role The Retail & Facility Manager oversees all aspects of the Wicker Park Secret Agent Supply, including customer service, inventory management, and visual merchandising, as well as oversees the facilities and technical support of 826CHI.

This position also welcomes community members into our space and educates them about 826CHIs programs and mission.

This position is full time and is scheduled Wednesday through Sunday.

Key Responsibilities The Retail & Facility Manager contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices that further 826CHIs mission.

This position will make a significant impact on Chicago youth by promoting organizational stability, efficiency and an effective environment for collaboration.

Retail Management 70% Oversee buying, receiving, tracking of store inventory.

Manage visual merchandising and customer service experience.

Manage store website and orders.

Collaborate with the communications department to manage the store online presence, including social media, store newsletters and blog, and sales channels.

Perform opening and closing duties as well as daily functions.

Follow and develop all store policies and procedures as needed.

Prepare cash deposits and code monthly expenses and income.

Create sales forecasts; set and track annual, monthly, and weekly financial goals.

Coordinate annual inventory at the close of the fiscal year.

Manage store volunteers, retail-focused interns, and temporary seasonal staff.

Be an active member of the 826 National Store Cohort.

Outreach Coordination 10% Coordinate off-site sales and outreach.

Manage publication distribution relationships with local stores and libraries.

Maintain professional memberships and affiliations.

Design and implement store-themed events and campaigns.

Facility and Technology Administration 20% Manages minor capital improvement projects.

Manages facility upkeep, including janitorial service and building checklists.

Manages inventory, purchase, and storage of supplies, maintaining relationships with key vendors.

Manages facility rentals, including contracts with partners and on-site supervision.

Coordinate facility tour and training for new staff and interns.

Manage cleaning service schedule, fire drills and extinguisher licenses, window cleaning, and all facility repairs and updates.

Manages Staples account and supply ordering, mapping, and organization.

Manages Tech and IT, including computer updates, purchase, and troubleshooting.

Install print drivers, manage internet and router, install software.

Manage and support tech inventory, including computers, copier, printer, projector, sound equipment.

Set up new staff workstations and computers Reporting The Retail & Facility Manager reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the Administrative Team.

This position oversees interns, volunteers, and seasonal store staff.

Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience working within a retail management capacity.

Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

Advanced organizational skills, resourcefulness, ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Experience managing a facility, supplies, and technology.

Experience managing a team and working within collaborative environments.

Ability to work autonomously self-starter with excellent initiative.

Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft, Google, and Apple operating systems and tools.

Preferred experience with Shopify or other data management and online shopping products.

Spanish language skills preferred.
