Some of our shows include On Purpose with Jay Shetty, The Sarah Silverman Podcast, The Viall Files, And That’s Why We Drink, and I Don’t Know About That with Jim Jefferies, among others.nn nn n nn nn About This Role: nn nn n nn nnKast Media is looking for a VP of Production who will build out and oversee the entire production team, working on both partner shows and Kast originals.

Some of these shows may include The Sarah Silverman Podcast, And That’s Why We Drink, The Viall Files, and I Don’t Know About That With Jim Jefferies, along with several exciting soon-to-be announced shows.

This position will report directly to the CEO and will be a part of the Senior Leadership Team.

The ideal candidate has significant experience building and mentoring nimble creative production teams that deliver premium content on budget and on time.

nn nn n nn nn How Will You Spend Your Time?

nn nn n nn Oversee the creative production of our current shows from development through launch, ensuring they meet revenue goals, achieve audience success, and run smoothly for all external partners Implement effective company procedures and systems to keep productions running smoothly and to build out efficient communication channels between necessary departments at Kast including Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Content Partnerships Maintain constant communication with appropriate stakeholders to build out a revenue plan and strategic marketing and release plan for each show Build out and oversee a rapidly growing team of producers and associate producers; and establish an environment that fosters career development and growth at Kast Once a show kicks off into pre-production, serve as the point person for all third parties including talent, agents, and vendors Build, manage, and maintain Kast external vendor relationships to support scalable production operations Support the producer team in contribution of guest and segment ideas, research, and help with booking guests if applicable Stay up-to-date on industry trends and be able to translate this knowledge, as well as your network, into opportunities to grow shows at Kast Liaison with the producers and associate producers to ensure quality control of shows Collaborate with Studio Manager for set build-outs and budget approvals for each show Ensure shows are produced on-time, on-budget and according to contractual terms nn n nn nn You Should Have: nn nn n nn 12+ years of experience in podcasting, digital media, or television production 3-4+ years of managerial experience Track record of being an inspiring manager who helps train, mentor and bring out the best in their team Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead meetings with C-Suite executives, as well as maneuver complicated relationships (with talent and reps) in the most professional manner A proactive ‘problem solver’ mentality, constantly looking around the corner to anticipate issues before they arrive A passion for the quality of programming you produce, and an inability to settle for nothing but the best A deep understanding and passion for the podcast industry, along with knowledge of major players and best practices (for creative and production) A strong attention to detail and the ability to oversee multiple projects at once The ability to recognize what’s working on other podcasts and apply that to Kast shows Production credits on premium podcasts, digital, or television series nn n nn nn Our Dream Candidate Has: nn nn n nn Knowledge of Google Workspace and File Stream Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Audition, Premiere) Knowledge of Apple, and other podcast distribution platforms, and an understanding of how to operate inside of this ecosystem Track record of producing award-winning podcasts on premium networks Experience working in both a corporate environment (with clear processes and structure) and a growing start-up (where you’ve had to roll up your sleeves and “get dirty”) Strong understanding of journalism, news, and pop culture Curiosity about content trends among millennial audiences A strong desire to really take ownership and dive right in; building out a rockstar team and putting together processes at a growing startup A charismatic personality and a great sense of humor nn n nn nnThis a full-time salaried position, commensurate to experience.
