Requirements: 

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Food & Beverage Production, with at least 2 years of people management. Refrigeration, automation, and PLC experience strongly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering or business is preferred.
  • Systems: ERP system proficiency preferred (Microsoft Dynamics 365). Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Languages: Bilingual in Spanish/English required.
  • Physical Requirements: Involves constant movement around varying facility environments, occasionally in a hot/wet/humid (80-90°F), cold (30-40°F) and/or loud noise levels. Ability to frequently lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.

Job Description:

The Production Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the department and ensures the department is implementing and sustaining employee safety, food safety, quality, and performance standards. This position will identify deficiencies immediately, provide, implement, and sustain solutions, and validate that the outcome meets defined standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Enforce current GMPs, OSHA/Safety rules, and SOPs to ensure product quality and consumer safety.
  • Influence and lead a Safety Culture by integrating safety initiatives into department goals.
  • Effectively manage projects to support R&D initiatives and the Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators are met and motivate team to drive results.
  • Monitor/manage department labor budget and initiatives.
  • Problem solve and effectively troubleshoot mechanical systems/equipment failures or issues.
  • Perform sensory evaluation of products. Perform team evaluations and manage personal, team and department goals.
  • Maintain SQF compliance and prepare team for audits.
  • Understand production mixes (batches) and tank schedules to minimize changes, loss, or downtime events.
  • Monitor and ensure product handling and conditioning meets company standards and guidelines.

Job Details:

  • Work Hours: Monday thru Friday business hours, with occasional weekends.
  • Work Attire: Business/Smart Casual; Use good judgment.
