The Opportunity:

The Interim Regional Manager of Independent Studies will oversee and support the region’s Independent Study program with logistics, compliance, and reporting to ensure the success of students in the program.

The Interim Regional Manager is an interim, 1 year position and will be a member of the regional team.

What You Will Do:

Planning and Execution 

  • Create and execute a work plan with roles and responsibilities for teammates across the region.
  • Ensure that the region is meeting all responsibilities of the independent study program, including, but not limited to, data gathering and reporting, attendance and participation tracking, re-engagement strategies, instructional minutes requirements, and collection of signed independent study agreements.
  • In partnership with IT and Ops Team, support sites and regional team with logistics of streaming live instruction.
  • Manage Independent Study documentation according to Aspire Independent Study policy and state requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for our outside Independent Study vendor and fulfill the list of duties and responsibilities as requested.
  • Become the regional expert on the utilization of the vendor’s platform.

    Create and deliver training and reference materials as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with IT, the Data Team, and school-based operations to manage rosters.

Program Monitoring and Support

  • Monitor student assignment completion and learning.
  • Participate in regular training and analysis meetings with the vendor.
  • Utilize student data and survey data to adjust supports.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Schedule check-ins with school administration to support implementation of the Independent Study program.
  • Work with the vendor to troubleshoot issues
  • Create talking points or communication templates for schools to leverage
  • Establish and maintain an inclusive, culturally relevant and sensitive environment.

Other duties

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and and support, Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records as outlined by FERPA.
  • Adhere to Aspire’s health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies’ recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills that consistently demonstrate a high sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements including antiracism, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

Experience:

  • Experience working in a TK-12 school environment for 3 or more years
  • Experience working with diverse student and staff populations
  • Program evaluation expertise and research skills
  • Prior experience working as an After School Programs Director
  • Prior experience working as a teacher (preferred)

Minimum education level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
