This role reports directly to the CMC Events Director.+ Work with CMC events team to develop and maintain all aspects of CMC events, ensuring we lead with innovation and brand relevance+ Deliver a high operational standard to all CMC, Brookfield, and Third-Party events+ Ensure all client needs are met throughout the planning process, adapting to budgets without compromising event style or operational delivery+ Ensure CMC Events Director and Senior Events Manager are fully briefed in line with client requirements and expectations ahead of final event delivery+ Keeps management informed of issues as they arise+ Coordinates and arranges support necessary for events including but not limited to: transportation and shuttle coordination, city permitting, signage, lighting, electrical and power distribution, booth setup, booth rental equipment, and other equipment as needed+ Supervise and manage all third-party support staff+ Key liaison between property team across the California Market Center including security services, janitorial, engineering, parking, and building operations+ During events, this position is available to handle operational emergencies by providing appropriate assistance and dispatching personnel to the floor if necessary+ Ensures the event operations and its various components, are in compliance with company, local, state, and federal policies, codes and safety regulations+ Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations+ Sources necessary materials and equipment and act as a negotiator to obtain cost-effective prices from suppliers+ Creates process and operational consistencies to reduce costs and improve performance. Audits current procedures to improve efficiency of operations+ After each event, provide expense information for billing purposes related to third-party labor, engineering, janitorial, parking, and security services+ Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.+ Performs other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS+ Associate degree and minimum of 5 years of experience as an Event Operations or Trade Show Operations Coordinator. May accept an equivalent combination of education and experience+ Experience with large scale events and/or trade shows+ Experience in building operations, event management, project management, and materials resource management+ Proven record of providing excellent customer service internally and externally+ Team oriented, but can also work independently+ Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload and manage time+ Flexible and adaptable, ability to work well under pressure+ Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously+ Proven leadership ability+ High attention to detail+ Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain successful business relationships and contacts. Must have good grammar, ability to write clearly and concisely, and able to communicate with professionalism.+ Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint+ Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments+ Must be comfortable with lifting, moving, or transporting fixtures and equipment+ Work for long periods of time and can walk great distances on show floor+ Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends+ Regular attendance on site is an essential function of this position. Must be able to work consistently as scheduled.
