Role Overview

GOAT Group is seeking a Director, Total Rewards. This role will provide leadership and direction for all components of compensation, including development, implementation, and management of GOAT’s compensation and equity strategy globally. They will also lead enhancing our benefit offerings and programs both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strong technical capabilities, strong judgment, ownership of the details, and a desire to create scalable and progressive total rewards programs and processes.

You will report to the Head of People. You will manage the Compensation and Benefits teams, hiring team members as necessary, and be an essential partner to our Executive Leadership and People Team.

In this role you will:

  • Provide strategic direction on global compensation and benefits programs and initiatives that are aligned, competitive, and tailored to varying Corporate, Retail, and Warehouse populations across North America, APAC, and EMEA.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits-related system implementations and process improvements.
  • Lead and administer an annual compensation and equity review cycle.
  • Lead equity program design including developing program structure, grant analysis, and employee and candidate education.
  • Partner with key business leaders, HR Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition to ensure compensation and benefit programs meet various business needs.
  • Build communications and change management plans regarding compensation and benefits programs to improve employee understanding and help convey the value being provided.
  • Oversee leave of absence administration, including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave, Workers Compensation Leave, Sick Leave, and Short and Long Term Disability, as well as applicable leave processes internationally as required by local law.
  • Advise on state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, personnel procedures, and classification programs; prepare and communicate information to employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.
  • Lead the development and review of policies related to benefits and compensation in the US and internationally.
  • Conduct routine reviews of Total Rewards and Benefits offerings through benchmarking, analysis of various options and leading the team on implementing changes as needed.
  • Understand the administration of all benefits; provide guidance to ensure best practice and compliance
  • Coach and develop a team of compensation and benefits professionals
  • Provide leadership to the broader People team, ensuring Total Rewards strategy is well-integrated to the broader People team and business strategy

We are looking for:

  • 12+ years of experience in global compensation, benefits, and total rewards experience, with 5+ years of leading a team.
  • 5+ years of experience with global compensation administration across fixed and variable cash and equity compensation.
  • Fundamental experience in administration of employee benefits, including global benefits policies and building and enhancing offerings in international locations.
  • Experience working with Retail and/or Warehouse populations is a plus
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with experience evaluating and managing online salary management tools.
  • Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to influence and develop strong cross-functional working relationships with groups such as HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition & Finance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to work.
