Establishes and directs the strategic long-term goals, policies and procedures for an information technology department. Gives technical guidance on high-priority projects and orients the company to trends in the information technology industry. In addition, the Vice President of Information Technology reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and is responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Implements corporate vision and establishes IT strategy for the department. Executes multiple high-impact initiatives to achieve overall corporate goals. Among others, the responsibility of the Vice President IT is the management, planning, strategy, security and execution of IT infrastructure for a globally dispersed and online enterprise organization. This position will in conjunction with the CTO, set overall infrastructure strategy, security posture and oversee technical projects in alignment with organizational goals and direct the effective delivery of networks, development, security and disaster recovery systems and processes. In conjunction with the CTO, the Vice President IT will supervise Directors, Managers and teams of engineers actively working on the company environments, while working closely with management, external vendors and advisors to advance systems operations throughout the organization. Other duties include researching and recommending new products, identifying new market opportunities and leading efforts to improve IT processes. Supervisory Responsibility All InfrastructureNetwork IT staff and involvement in Data Management and Hosting. Provides support to Development team infrastructure needs for DEV, QA, Pre-Production Production environments for all product lines of the company. Principal Responsibilities Directs the IT Infrastructure function, providing leadership and escalation support to the Systems and Network Operations, Security, DevOps, Service Desk and Database teams Develops and analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community andor clients and recommends technical solutions based on thorough research and analysis Audits systems and network security to ensure compliance with all Security policies and Compliance efforts Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standardsprocedures and ensures compliance with all security measures Directs and manages operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations Directs, prioritizes and audits the workload and work product of IT personnel Approves all business requirements prior to the implementation of technical solutions Participates on all hardware and software evaluations Negotiates and maintains vendor contracts with relation to the IT budget Represents the IT function at review meeting when appropriate Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and development personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting Performs salary administration and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants andor replacement personnel. Partners with the Vice President of Engineering to implement newly developed technology solutions in production environments.
