Position Summary
The Walmart Creative Studio Director is a newly formed role within Walmart Creative, dedicated to facility operations, content execution and answering Customer needs. This role is housed within the larger Marketing organization at Walmart. This role is responsible for the leadership, operations and execution of Studio content creation through delivery at Walmart Creative Studio, supporting:
- Physical Location. Leads location operations, policies, procedures, staff and in-housed content creation capabilities
- Capability enablement. Innovates to support evolving content needs through flexible infrastructure, team growth and location operations

The ideal candidate will thrive in a role that presents constant change and innovation in a flexible, world-class Studio. Candidates will preferably come from a content, physical production video/asset/rich media background with:
- Content development expertise
- Strong familiarity with video sets, photography, stages, camera and lighting
- Production crews/etiquette, general union rules and labor laws
- Forming, building and operationalizing high-performance content teams
Key Job Responsibilities
Your key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading a team of multi-skilled, diverse operations and production professionals, and being the “buck stops with me” executive for all aspects of studio production (video, audio, photo) associated with a state-of-the-art facility
- Develops and delivers strategy for the Studio reflecting equal consideration of both operational and creative needs
- Shapes and leads the Studio vision, execution plans and leads through change, regardless of size or scale
- Represents interests of Production in partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Leads in the now and future; develops models and bench talent to support evolving needs across Studio staffing and physical executions
- Owns Studio accountability and day to day operations, ensuring strategies are met, costs are controlled and maximum productivity is achieved
- Owns physical facility operations, clear and specific alignments to Walmart policies and creates a culture of a relentless commitment to safety in all actions
- Leads, develops and maintains effective processes and workflows to source and ramp up production to meet volume targets and manage costs
- Builds, creates and maintains a motivated, engaged and high performing team and environment rooted in and exemplifying the Walmart values
- Strategically builds a content production capability supporting a range of outputs – quick turn, serialized, longer lead; commits wholly to team growth
- Inspires team creativity and innovation across offerings, solutions and executions
- Relentless commitment to safety in operations and team education and training
- Identifies unique, diverse talent opportunities and recommends where/how to bring them in to increase perspectives and elevate our work
- The Studio Manager is able to distill a wide range of inputs from all stakeholders and set a plan to run the studio seamlessly. Reporting to the Head of Integrated Production, your ability to develop a strategy, run operations and achieve consensus amongst many voices is paramount. You will be responsible for ensuring that the resources are in place to meet the needs of internal and external partners. You are technically proficient in both video and photo content capture and you are adept with a variety of industry-wide scheduling, and operations tools. You are able to work with ambiguity, analyze problems, communicate solutions and drive strategic initiatives.
- You love building systems, removing bottlenecks, identifying and codifying best practices, and are able to condense your plans into formal reports.
- Excellent communication, reporting and interpersonal skills; organized, proactive, and quick-thinking
Experience:
- 10+ years direct people leadership (large teams preferred, direct & indirect)
- 7+ years experience in studio production environments/management and/or operations
- 10+ years experience managing significant financial budgets and targets
- 10+ years experience working in a cross-functional environment where content is influenced by multiple stakeholders
- 10+ years experience with scaled production shoots ranging from budgets that are small/scrappy to significant
- 5+ years building/leading/executing content supporting a range of outputs – quick turn, serialized, longer lead
- Independently proficient in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Power Point
