Design and Planning Manager

General Responsibilities:

The Design and Planning Manager is responsible for workstreams related to the Architecture and Design all Hertz divisions. This individual manages architectural and design consultants, attends airport technical industry meetings, and analyzes construction documents, ensuring that designs conform to prototype standards. Up to 20% travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage design and engineering process for Special Projects as required throughout US and North America.
Attends regular technical meetings with industry and airport authorities for all types of construction and renovation projects.
Ensures all designs conform to prototype standards and guidelines.
Implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep stakeholders and project resources informed. Facilitates project meetings.
Manages external vendor relationships in areas such as Architecture, Engineering, Signage, and FFE.
Creates design packages for airport authority and local jurisdiction submittals, not limited to but including renderings and sample boards.
Implements project documentation governance aligned with stakeholder requirements.
Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.
Communicates all necessary information to the Construction team to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
Demonstrates ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements:

Work Experience/ Education:

Preferred Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or related field preferred.
At least five (5) years of commercial planning/construction field is required, including project management experience. Experience in a fast-paced business environment is helpful.
Electrical Engineering and/or prior electrical experience is preferred
Previous managerial experience preferred
Experience using AutoCAD/Revit is preferred
Proficient with MS Project, & Office Suite required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
Ability to effectively present information.
Conducts advanced financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
