THE POSITION

Our roster has an opening with your name on it

We are looking to add an In-House Counsel to our legal team with experience working at a nationally-recognized law firm or in-house at an internet/technology company to oversee a variety of legal work for the Fox Bet and PokerStars brands, including the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, assisting with day-to-day legal matters, and advising the business on marketing and intellectual property issues.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this position will support many of the business teams at Fox Bet and PokerStars US.

THE GAME PLAN

Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Independently draft and negotiate a high volume of complex commercial and general enterprise contracts including agreements with vendors, sponsors and marketing partners.
  • Provide well-reasoned advice to the business on compliance with state, federal and international marketing and intellectual property laws.
  • Work with the Director of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs to advise the various business teams on the gaming regulatory requirements for vendors and partners. 
  • Manage contest rules and promotion terms and conditions and ensure compliance with relevant sweepstakes laws. 
  • Build close relationships with personnel at supported business operations and obtain and maintain a strong knowledge of the product and objectives of those operations. 
  • Provide sound business judgment, confidence, a sense of ownership, drive, comfort making tough calls where the answer is not clear, and an aptitude to learn quickly the nuances of the internet, technology and media businesses.

THE STATS

What we’re looking for in our next teammate

  • JD from a top tier law school and member of at least one state bar
  • Minimum of 6 years at a nationally-recognized law firm or internet/technology company, with a focus on marketing and IP issues highly preferred
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Passion to work hard in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful
