Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

Wells Fargo’s Waste & Recycling Industries Group (WARIG) provides industry expertise and advisory support for Waste & Recycling clients and prospective clients to Middle Market Banking (MMB) offices, Senior Leadership, Credit Supervision, and other key partners across the Wells Fargo national footprint.  We are looking for a senior RM/Advisor who is interested in working with Waste & Recycling companies.

The Relationship Manager will proactively identify new business opportunities and handle all Waste & Recycling industry aspects of client interaction including originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to commercial lending, investment banking, debt capital markets, and loan syndications. The candidate should have credit underwriting and/or portfolio management background to help them understand when and how Wells Fargo’s capital may be thoughtfully deployed.  

This Relationship Manager will take the role of providing knowledgeable expertise for Commercial Banking’s Waste & Recycling industry customers and prospects. The Wells Fargo WARIG advisors provide this expertise to Commercial Banking Offices (Commercial Banking Leaders, Business Development Officers, Relationship Managers, Market Credit Leads, etc.), Wells Fargo Capital Finance, Wells Fargo Equipment Finance and other Wholesale units around the country to assist in their relationship management and prospecting efforts as well as in their credit structuring and approval processes.  

The WARIG RM/Advisor frequently calls on clients and prospects with various other relationship managers in local Wells Fargo markets.  The advisor role includes consulting on a Commercial Banking Office’s prospect selection and analysis, key risk identification and mitigation issues, and client underwriting analysis/activities.   
 
The WARIG RM/Advisor is expected to deliver Waste & Recycling industry expertise and credit astuteness directly to customers/prospects, Commercial Banking relationship teams, their management and also to Credit Supervision.

More specifically, duties / objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists Bank offices with a purpose to increase market penetration using Waste & Recycling industry knowledge in an advisory capacity. Purpose is to increase the Waste & Recycling portfolio, Bank revenues, return on equity, and provide a consistent risk management approach
  • Interprets credit due diligence on Waste & Recycling-related matters including credit underwriting of leveraged buyout models, term sheet development, financial covenants, and credit agreement negotiation  
  • Explains the nuances of Waste & Recycling accounting treatment in audited financial statements
  • Delivers Waste & Recycling industry expertise and credit knowledge on conference calls/in-person meetings with Bank offices, customers and prospects
  • Assists in maintaining the Waste & Recycling Industry Group’s relationship interactions with Wells Fargo Bank offices, customers and prospects along with Waste & Recycling centers of influence
  • Builds Waste & Recycling expertise by attending/speaking at National and Regional Waste & Recycling conferences
  • Educates and updates Bank offices, customers and prospects on Waste & Recycling issues

Position location is flexible across Wells Fargo’s footprint. 

Salary range is determined by the location of the job.
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40-hour a week schedule.

Area 000: Min:$146,300 Mid:$209,000 Max:$271,700 
Area 001: Min:$139,700 Mid:$199,500 Max:$259,400 
Area 002: Min:$133,000 Mid:$190,000 Max:$247,000
Area 003: Min:$126,400 Mid:$180,500 Max:$234,700

May be considered for a discretionary bonus.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of account management experience, sales experience, or a combination of both

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group: lending, loan servicing, products, and credit practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of negotiating: interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of risk management
  • Experience consistently delivering strong sales performance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Solid critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Experience developing and managing client relationships
  • Capital markets experience

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
