Carl Warren is a nationwide Third-Party Administrator (TPA) with about 150 employees and 20 locations across the country.

We provide liability and property claims management and administration services to the private and public sectors, insurance companies and captives.

We are looking for a Claims Examiner to join our team.

This position will be based out of Los Angeles, California.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage day-to-day claims operations, including claims evaluation, adjudication, and customer service in accordance with Carl Warren and the clients quality and production standards.

Manage and develop a staff of 24 claims professionals, which includes supervisors, claims examiners, subrogation specialists and support personnel.

Recruit, onboard and mentor new associates.

Conduct performance appraisals to direct staff, act as a role model for the team in exemplifying operational best practices and foster employee development, and interview as appropriate.

Track and monitor daily claim activity for appropriate case loading and assignment of new matters, escalation, and reassignment of matters, and monitoring closure rates to ensure appropriate staff loading.

Communicate accordingly between Carl Warren and client.

Coordinate and control outside experts and vendors when necessary and appropriate.

Analyze and identify trends within the claims data and provide reports as necessary.

Identify processes for improvement and be a part of the solution.

Schedule internal and external audits.

This position reports directly to both the client and Carl Warrens VP of Claims.

REQUIREMENTS

10+ years in the Property & Casualty industry

Must have a thorough understanding of property & casualty claims operations, including, but not limited to, prior roles as adjuster/examiner, claims operations, claims manager or equivalent

7+ years of claims manager experience

5+ years of California public entity tort experience

College degree and designation (e.g.

AIC, AIM, AIS, ARM, CPCU, CRM) preferred

Experience working with claims systems and strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
