Business Innovation & Reporting Manager

Primary PurposeResponsible for leading, managing, and driving continuous improvements through technology and optimal business processes for SoCalGas’ Operational Planning organization pertaining to O&C and Capital financial performance and metrics reporting, Risk Spending Accountability Reporting (RSAR), and other operational planning & regulatory support.

The Continuous Improvement Operational Planning Manager will 1) lead cross functional teams to implement technology solutions, 2) improve operational processes and measure results, and 3) have managerial responsibility for the outcomes of a group supporting assigned financial systems (e.g., PowerBI, RSAR technology solutions, etc.).

As initiatives are assessed and implemented, will oversee all aspects of the implementation including but not limited to the development of operational and SOX business controls, records and data requirements, process maps, training and desk guides, development of business analysis reporting metrics, and coordination with SDG&E, as appropriate.

Responsible for 1) the successful operations of assigned systems, 2) staying abreast of leading practices in Operational Planning and 3) leading practices in other areas that can be applied to Operational Planning.

Duties and Responsibilities * In partnership with Financial Planning, Regulatory, Enterprise Risk, Accounting Financial Systems, and Information Technology departments, addresses the current state of technology usage and recommend solutions for optimal operational financial performance reporting and regulatory financial comparisons.* Responsible for the consolidation, administration, and maintenance of the O&C and functional capital reporting for Operational Planning PowerBI Dashboards as well as supervising the system analysts, providing direction, training, and mentoring.* Leads cross functional teams to identify and implement system and/or process enhancements, and measure results.* In partnership with Enterprise Risk, Regulatory, and Operations subject matter experts, participates in the analysis, review, and recommendations for continuous improvements of business processes; includes all phases of development through implementation.* Leads SoCalGas company system upgrades or operational changes that impact Operational Planning.

Coordinates issues of common interest with SoCalGas.* Leads the change management efforts to implement and train personnel for new processes or systems.* Acts as the Operational Planning lead to meet with industry leaders or other 3rd parties to explore the latest technology available and process opportunities.* Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Qualifications Education * Bachelor’s Degree Business
– Finance; Accounting; Economics; Information Systems; Administration or engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience.

Required* Master’s Degree MBA and other related.

PreferredExperience * 8 years Professional relevant experience such as Industrial and/or Process Engineering, Project Management, Data Analytics, and Business Analysis.

Required* Experience or working knowledge of Business Analytics, Data Analysis, and/or Project Management (included in overall years of experience).

Required* Experience and knowledge regarding Accounting concepts, systems & processes, Information Technology solutions, application management, and robotics processing.

PreferredSkills and Abilities * Knowledge of and experience in operational planning; accounting & finance technical concepts; regulatory process along with project management abilities.

Advanced* Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and programming languages.

Advanced* Results-oriented individual with strong leadership and influencing skills to lead cross-functional teams and drive objectives.

Advanced* Ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions.

Advanced* Detail oriented and be able to establish quality controls and verification processes to ensure accurate reporting.

Advanced* Communication and writing skills for internal and external executive summaries.

Advanced* Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical audience for presentations to company management and executives.

Advanced* Ability to train department staff in a classroom type or web based setting.

AdvancedLicenses and Certifications * Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher); Project Management or other process improvement methodologies.

Preferred* Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, and other related.
