With our commitment to professional growth and employee development, let AFL “Connect” you to your next career opportunityWe are seeking a Regional Sales Manager for our Energy Market in the Texas and Oklahoma Region.Job SummaryThe Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for maximizing sales of targeted products at assigned Electric Utility accounts in the Texas and Oklahoma region.

The individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships at key account providing direct sales and implementation support for AFL’s products and services.

This activity will include direct management of a team of agent representative organizations.

Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager must coordinate the activities of internal support functions (Application Engineers, Sales Service Representatives, and Product Line Managers) for all AFL product groups in the assigned region.ResponsibilitiesAchieve or exceed planned sales levels for all products and services at targeted accounts and/or targeted market segments.Conduct sales calls to implement account and/or target market strategies as developed in conjunction with the other Regional Sales Managers in support of AFL’s business objectives.Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding AFL’s products and services and their applications to the potential customers.

Act in a consultative role to the customer to insure that they can easily order, install, and add value to their internal programs with our products and services.Maintain sufficient knowledge of customer’s business to recognize opportunities that will drive growth for AFL.Lead and manage the local sales agency representative teams in the defined region.Negotiate and manage customer alliance agreements and contracts with strategic customersManage and drive growth with key distribution partners in the regionAssist in training and orientation of new customer sales organizations as required.Establish sources to provide information or competitive pricing, market activities, transaction usage and other information about the assigned account(s) or target markets.Provide direction to the customer service representatives in support of customer needs.Participate in national and regional trade shows and/or conferences in accordance with the account or target market strategy, with the objective of maintaining or improving customer relationships and prospecting for new business.Manage the flow of information and communications between AFL and key account(s) and/or target markets in accordance with the account strategy, with the objective of improving customer relationships.Personal QualitiesLeadership

– Excellent ability to multitask and set priorities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a business or technical field.5 plus years’ of experience selling to the Electric Utility or Telecommunications marketsKnowledge of the customers and distribution channels that serve the customer base.Experience with managing outside sales agent representative teams is a plusGood understanding of the base technology and emerging trends in fiber as it is deployed in the specific market.Engineering knowledge and strategic account selling skills to support strategic expansion in the respective region.Working ConditionsHome office environmentTravel
