Accounts Payable Manager

Job Summary: Responsible for day-to-day supervision of Accounts Payable staff and function.

Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

Responsibilities: QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent plus 5 years of accounting and manager experience.Excellent leadership and team building skills; ability to recognize and reward staff performance.Thorough knowledge of general accounting and the application of general accounting theory.Proficient in MS Word and Excel software programs.Excellent verbal written communication and organizational skills.Knowledge of Accounts Payable process and cash management RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.Assist the Director of Shared Services to oversee the distribution of responsibilities and performance of Accounts Payable staff.Enforce and monitor staff adherence to Accounts Payable and Corporate policies and procedures.Oversee staff maintenance of documents and journal entry / payables support per Accounting and Aimbridge document management and retention policies.Supervise accounts payable processing including assisting with issue resolution and vendor communications.Provide complete accurate and timely information to Treasury to support current cash needs budgeting and forecasting.Oversee payment processing via check credit card and other means and resolve payment issues.Supervise distribution or mailing of all accounts payable checks virtual cards electronic funds transfer and other means of funds disbursement; resolve issues including non-receipt of payment and virtual card maintenance.Provide Accounts Payable related support to hotel accounting staff on request.Oversee preparation and maintenance of all accounts payable reports spreadsheets and other files.Ensure Accounts Payable staff work is complete and accurate and that all processing occurs in a timely manner to facilitate closing the accounts payable sub-ledger timely as defined within the Accounting month-end closing schedule.Maintain dialogue between Accounts Payable and Property Accounting and support the property level month-end closing process.Maintain dialogue between Accounts Payable and Tax and support payment of Sales Use Occupancy Personal Property and Real Property Tax.Continually assess opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounts Payable department and the level of services provided to internal clients.Participate in meetings and on committees as requested by supervisors.Investigate and resolve issues and perform other duties as assigned.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.Oversee staff development ensuring training checklists are fully utilized and updated as needed.
