Assistant Teachers Welcome to Awaken Dreams Creative Learning Center, the creative place to learn and grow We are a Mid-city non-profit early childhood education center that focuses on hands-on exploration and creating developmentally stimulating programming for children ages 2.5-7yrs. We are currently looking for a part-time assistant teacher to join our team of educators. Job Summary: Part-time assistant teacher to collaborate, support, and work with our fellow teachers as well as students aged 2.5-7 years old. This teacher will incorporate their own experiences, talents, and passions into our school and curriculum while also learning and implementing our schools philosophy. This position is a great opportunity for both experienced educators as well as current ECE college students looking to grow their craft. This job includes lots of room for growth Essential duties and responsibilities: Implement our schools ideologies into classroom enrichment and curriculum Work collaboratively with other staff to create and execute the vision of a growing school Be comfortable independently transitioning students through their day, including specialists, bathroom schedules, and more Create a nurturing environment for young minds to engage, explore, take risks, try new things, and thrive Parent engagement, to best ease transitions and creating healthy and lasting relationships with the school Be able to effectively help students navigate peer interactions and language, with a heavy focus on social emotional development Bring excitement to learning, creating engaging and developmentally appropriate activities and crafts aligning with our monthly curriculum Morning meetings, to debrief on what the day will have and catch up on current happenings throughout the school Ideal candidate: Has a heart for Early Childhood Education and a willingness to learn and grow Has Minimum 12 Early Childhood Units Must meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services (licensing), including an updated TB status, fingerprint clearance. Is Fully immunized for pertussis, measles, and COVID-19 Demonstrated understanding of child development Has experience working with children 2.5-7yrs Active CPR certification, preferred Logistics: 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday A specific schedule will be mapped out based on applicants availability and the needs of the school Starting pay based on experience Contact: Dr. CarlyAnn R.
