Service Sales Engineer

Overview

Elliott Group is hiring a Service Sales Engineer. Our ideal candidate will be located in Southern California within a 100 mile radius from Los Angeles California.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Maintain direct customer account responsibility to call on and build customer relationships in order to develop, nurture, and close Elliott Service Business Opportunities.

Be responsive to customer requests and needs.

Effectively communicate (verbally and written) any and all customer requests, needs, and expectations for planned and emergency equipment repairs to the proper Elliott Service Business organization.

Create, maintain, and close customer equipment repair opportunities within Elliott’s Customer Relations Management (CRM) data system.

Coordinate customer terms and conditions, Master Service Agreements (MSA), and Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) that are applicable to potential and secured purchase orders & contracts.

Obtain assigned bookings on aftermarket products and services to ensure budgeted sales revenue.

Manage time and expenses to ensure coverage of key revenue sources while pursuing new target areas.

Prepare, review, and present service proposals to customers.

Recommend actions to counter or take advantage of a competitor’s position, i.e. price, lead time, or product differentiation related needs.

Present an annual analysis of your sales territory.

Complete special projects as assigned by sales or marketing management.

Acquire skills and experience in various repair procedures and techniques to maintain appropriate level of expertise and facilitate continued sales.

 

Qualifications

Background and Experience:

5 to 10+ years’ experience in consultative service sales experience.

Rotating equipment experience is required, including but not limited to compressors, turbines, pumps, gearboxes etc.

Experience calling on service market & aftermarket sectors including but not limited to manufacturing plants & repair shops.

 

A thorough technical knowledge of mechanical equipment design, operation, application, and maintenance.

An Engineering Degree, Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Will consider candidates with many years of experience in lieu of degree.

 

The ability to translate technical knowledge and skills into saleable ideas and proposals.

A thorough commercial knowledge of PetroChemical and Refinery Industries and overview of typical processes.

Field sales, service representative, market or application experience in the PetroChemical and Refinery Industry.

The ability to communicate quickly, clearly, forcefully, and tactfully with customers.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Promotional and selling skills needed to close business in both familiar and new markets.

Self-motivated individual that can manage their time and customer accounts to maximize territory bookings.
