The Los Angeles Police Protective League is a public safety union whose mission is to vigilantly protect, promote and improve the working conditions, legal rights, compensation, and benefits of the Los Angeles Police Officers.

The Los Angeles Police Protective League has a proud and distinguished history representing over 9,900 dedicated and professional sworn members of the Los Angeles Police Department.Membership Services RepresentativeAs the Membership Services Representative, youll provide assistance at the level of Membership Representative II, and perform at an intermediate level of clerical work involving responsibility for an auditing related function.Responsibilities:* Complete and accurate understanding of contract language so that transactions can be processed in an accurate timely manner* Effectively communicate and/or interact with discontent or distraught members who seek assistance or information* Ability to recognize a situation that calls for the intervention of the Department Supervisor* Maintain a working knowledge of union group plans and services; Ability to explain benefits to members* Attend Recruit Class Presentations at the Police Academy; assist Insurance Committee Chair with disseminating and collecting completed insurance forms and handout materials* Other duties may be assignedQualifications:* High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate degree preferred* At least 2 years customer service experience and/or training; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience* Proficient and have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel* Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minuteBenefits:We value our employees time and efforts.
