Our vision is to create a pipeline of opportunities for immigrant youth and their families to bridge the socio-economic gap that immigrant families experience in Los Angeles.

The Youth and Family Coordinator is primarily responsible for the programmatic leadership, visioning and implementation of youth and family services.Job Title:Youth and Family CoordinatorCore Responsibilities:* Building supportive and holistic community among the Center’s participants;* Maintaining regular contact with youth and guardians on the Center’s behalf and keeping track of their emerging needs;* Developing and maintaining a knowledge base of social, legal, medical, and spiritual services available to participants and making referrals of participants as needed to appropriate services;* Keeping accurate records of participants’ attempts to access services, and the actual provision of these services;* Working with participants, volunteers, staff, and community partners to develop holistic plans for assisting participants in meeting their needs and achieving their goals.* Developing and implementing programs in coordination with community partners and with the participants themselves that address the physical, psychological, social and cultural, needs of participants (e.g.

legal clinics, medical clinics, cultural events, etc.);* Working in collaboration with the pastoral staff to address the spiritual needs of participants;* Working in collaboration with the director to create social media content that tells the story of the Center’s endeavors.Education, Skills & Experience:* Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or similar human services field desired.

A minimum of 2 years of nonprofit work experience required;* Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English (the ability to communicate in other languages is useful but not required);* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, understand, empathize, provide emotional/spiritual support, and maintain confidentiality;* Ability to develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with community partners, coworkers, church staff, and volunteers;* Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan and implement events and to maintain records;* Basic computer skills, including word processing, data-base management, and social media;Reports to:DirectorFLSA Status:Non-exempt (40 hours per week)Benefits:Basic health insuranceTerms:This position will commence on, or soon after, May 15, 2022.

Employment is at-will.Hours:There is flexibility in work hours.

The actual hours to be worked each week will be negotiated with the director in coordination with other staff members.
