We are seeking a highly motivated legal assistant to join our legal team in Tampa, Florida. As a semi-remote legal assistant, you will have the opportunity to work both remotely, providing essential support to our attorneys and contributing to the success of our law firm. This position offers the flexibility of mostly remote work but will require periodic presence in Tampa (approximately 4 6 times per year).
Responsibilities:
– Assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and court filings.
– Draft and review correspondence.
– Manage and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy, organization, and confidentiality of information.
– Conduct factual investigations, gather evidence, and compile relevant documents.
– Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness coordination, and document management.
– Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions.
– Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
– Stay up-to-date on changes in laws, regulations, and legal procedures relevant to assigned practice areas.
– Collaborate with the legal team to support various practice areas as needed.
Experience Preferred In:
-Probate & Estates
-Litigation
Qualifications:
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Some administrative experience, preferably in a litigation-focused practice.
– Proficiency in case management software.
– Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
– Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Proficient in using technology and software tools necessary for remote work.
– Familiarity with Florida state and federal court systems.
– Prior experience working in civil litigation, personal injury, or insurance defense is a plus.
