Aerojet Rocketdyne has an opportunity for a Rocket Motor Operations Integrator / Manufacturing Engineer at our site near Culpeper, in rural Orange County, Virginia, a 1 hour drive from Washington DC.
At this location, we produce and develop a variety of solid rocket motors and energetic assemblies for rocket propulsion.
In this role, you will develop the internal execution plans and interface with key team members to ensure alignment of site and program objectives.
Key responsibilities include plan creation to seamlessly integrate manufacturing engineering, tool engineering/design, and manufacturing operations so products can be developed and delivered per schedule and budget targets to meet program needs.
This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.

Programs assigned may vary in lifecycle phase from newly won in Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD), to longstanding with ongoing production, and/or closeout of legacy operations.Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each) 45%
– Establish and oversee program plans for the operations site team to successfully execute the program requirements relative to schedule, cost, and performance/quality.
This will include hardware manufacturing, tool design and fabrication, staffing, process development, and facility needs.25%
– Interface with program team members and customers at all levels of the organization, from shop floor personnel to senior leadership, to ensure the program needs and site plans are in alignment.
Develop recovery plans when issues arise and coordinate applicable corrective actions.
Interface with Program and Master Schedulers in support of the Integrated Production Master Schedule to resolve conflicts with other programs.10%
– Work special projects as assigned and recommend improvements to key processes that would improve the overall flow of the site’s products.10%
– Proposal support
– Provide Basis of Estimate (BOE) and manufacturing section of proposals.10%
– Control/Cost Account Management (CAM)
– Responsible for schedule and cost variance analysis.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or an appropriate discipline and at least two (2) years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is preferred.Aerospace or Chemical Manufacturing industry experience is highly desired.Project Management and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience is essential.Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience or willingness to learn required.Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to technical problems with minimum supervision.Experience and familiarity with MS Office products required.Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may be a condition of employment at Aerojet Rocketdyne.
