Company Name: A-CAP (www.acap.com) Compensation: Dependent upon experience Location: Pleasantville, NY Job Description Responsibilities of an entry-level accounting position include, recording general ledger transactions as assigned, accounts payable, and support accounting team, as necessary.
This positions leading responsibility is maintaining accounts payable, ensuring all vendor invoices are processed with proper approval, correct coding and paid within the terms specified.
Ensuring invoices are recorded with through descriptions and sales tax is included, producing quality data for future reference.
This position is also responsible for ensuring vendor master files have necessary information, including W9 and a completed vendor form.
This position will also support the accounting, reporting and investment team with various tasks, special assignments, including monthly, quarterly, and annual projects.
Qualifications
– Computer literacy and familiarity with various computer programs such as MS Office.
– Attention to detail.
– Knowledge of grammar and punctuation.
– Ability to work to time constraints and change focus based on shifting priorities.

Responsibilities
– Preparing and sorting documents for data entry
– Entering data into Workspace/Unit4/Excel and checking to ensure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted.
– Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents
– Responding to information requests from internal and external sources
– Periodic reconciliation of accounts payable to the general ledger
– Posting of journal entry activity to general ledger software for review
