Responsible for the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm. This candidate should feel comfortable keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized.
Must have experience in the following: (1) Adobe-bate stamping, bookmarking, e-signatures, editing, and thorough knowledge of software, (2) utilizing CLIO, (3) ECF filing system, (4) utilizing Dropbox, (5) One-Legal filing system or equivalent third-party filing systems, (6) extensive experience in Word, (7) Outlook, (8) create and maintain discovery indexes, (9) draft deposition summaries, cover letters, proof of service, etc., (10) Microsoft Office, and (11) Lexis Nexis. Conduct legal research and initial case assessments.
Edit the engagement agreement template for each new client.
Draft/review/edit pleadings and motions and file them with the court (Federal-CM/ECF system; State-One Legal).
Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.).
The firm uses Clio and Dropbox software.
Know how to bate stamp and create bookmarks using Adobe.
Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices.
Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
Liaise between team and internal/external third parties.
Provide assistance with case settlements.
Help with voir dire, jury selection, and witness preparation (rare but may be necessary).
Requirements: Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail;Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.; Extensive computer and database expertise; Paralegal bachelor degree or other relevant certification; and Working experience as a Paralegal (preferred but not mandatory).
