Press Deputy

The Press Deputy position will be responsible for interactions with traditional press and media outlets, and other duties that support the office’s public facing communications.

Qualified candidates should be comfortable and thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be quick thinking with clear, concise communication styles.

Councilwoman Martinez is the President of the Los Angeles City Council, and represents the Sixth Council District, which includes the communities of Arleta, Van Nuys, Sun Valley, North Hollywood, Lake Balboa, North Hills and Panorama City.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare recommendations for media inquiries, trends, and breaking news Preparation of Press Releases and Statements, and Responses to Media Inquiries Organizing Press Events, including press conferences and media availabilities Proactive efforts to develop media coverage Development of talking points, speeches, and messaging Preparation of newsletters and other district communications Translating statements and communications, written and verbal, into Spanish
