Front End Engineer
– Discovery
We are looking for a Front End Engineer to join the Discovery team.

This person will work as part of the Discovery team to give our users the best initial experience possible when landing at the Honey home page.

As an engineer on this team, you’ll be tasked with building, iterating, and maintaining various projects focused on displaying a wide variety of discount shopping opportunities.

You can expect to work with a cross-disciplinary team including other front end engineers, backend engineers, data scientists, data engineers, quality assurance and product management to enhance existing product features and build new ones.

Honey is a fast-growing division of PayPal based in Los Angeles.

About You:

  • Experience with React (or similar e.g.

    Angular, Vue)

  • Experience using HTML & CSS
  • Experience building Node.js applications
  • Experience building user facing web applications
  • You use a modern version-control system for your source code repository (Git, Mercurial, GitHub, BitBucket)
  • You understand the value of testing in all its forms, whether it be unit testing, assisting our automation engineers, or double checking that your changes work in production.

  • You know about continuous integration systems like Travis, Jenkins, or CircleCI (we use Circle)
  • Bonus points for GraphQL

In this role, you’ll:

  • Own, maintain, and improve code repositories that power the PayPal Shopping experience across multiple web browsers, mobile apps, emails, and extensions
  • Design, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment with 5+ other software engineers.

  • Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills to create excellent products and services for Honey’s 10+ million users
  • Work closely with a project manager for your mission team on product requirements and translating those requirements to technical solutions
