Legal Assistant with Security Clearance

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Legal Assistant The types of litigation support required under this contract generally include: * Examining, preparing and processing a variety of technical legal documents, e.g., complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, and subpoenas.
* Providing assistance to attorneys in trial preparations.
* Assembling trial exhibits, affidavits, discovery in various formats, and other legal documents.
* Assembling and organizing files and records materials for disposition or transfer to records depository. • Maintaining calendar of assigned active cases.
* Tracking filing, hearing, and trial dates, and scheduling conferences and interviews. Minimum Requirements: * Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOJ Public Trust.
* Requires 1+ Years of specialized legal experience reviewing legal documents such as complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, and libels for completeness of information; retrieving and assembling information for hearing and/or trial use, researching a variety of legal sources to obtain and/or verify information; maintaining file systems; and using automated software to produce legal related reports, documents, correspondence and related materials.
* Knowledge of and experience with using Microsoft Applications required.
* Must be able to conduct simple research using Legal Research databases.
* Must work well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail is a must.
* Applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
* Must be able to work in an office setting where some walking, siting, standing, bending and carrying of small office items is required.
* Must be comfortable working in an office setting. Preferred Qualifications: * 3+ Years of relevant legal experience is preferred;
* Paralegal certificate is highly valued
