Job Details: FAIR LENDING UNDERWRITER
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This role will perform analysis utilizing underwriting sills to assess Fair Lending risk.

Communicates findings and rationale to business units.

Provides ongoing support for the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act compliance program.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Perform complex fair lending compliance reviews and analyze the fair lending risk of various business units
Perform periodic monitoring and prepares reports summarizing the Bank’s lending activity
Perform comparative file/matched pair analysis for Residential, Consumer, and Small Business lending portfolios
Provide support for the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) compliance program by reviewing reportable transactions, compiling data, and running validity and quality edit reviews
Assist with completion and maintenance of the Fair Lending Risk Assessment
Provides guidance to the Bank’s First Line of Defense in relation to HMDA data collection and Fair Lending related topics
Assist with regulatory exams and audits
Maintain proficiency in software tools necessary to complete requisite fair lending analysis and HMDA LAR submission
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
Minimum 4 years experience as an Underwriter in a financial services or mortgage banking environment required.
Minimum 5 years experience working with lending regulations (i.e.

HMDA, Reg Z, Reg B, ECOA, Fair Lending)
Minimum 4 years PC experience including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook as well as some form of industry standard mortgage software.
Prior experience working in a Regulatory Compliance role
Skills and Knowledge
College degree preferred.
Experience with loan origination systems is preferred.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of an organization.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in multi-tasking and prioritizing projects.
Excellent time management skills and be accustomed to working with deadlines.
