Carlsen Animal Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to expedite the diagnosis of illnesses so that an accurate treatment plan can be developed, resulting in higher treatment success rates and better outcomes. Our doctors are excellent diagnosticians and will help explain the purpose of each diagnostic test, treatment options, and expected results. We also offer Pet Dentistry and Surgical procedures, inpatient care and outpatient care for sick pets.

Carlsen Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
Venipuncture
Catheter placement
Radiology
Anesthesia monitoring (for trained or licensed individuals)
Patient physical exams and assessments
Patient recovery methods
Vaccine administration
Routine lab test (fecal, heartworm, CBC, etc.)
Surgical prep and assistance
Dental care
Pharmacy work
General flea & tick control knowledge
Ability to maintain and clean and organized treatment area
Exhibit compassionate care for all patients
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Ability to obtain Veterinary Controlled Substance Permit
Excellent communication skills.
Basic computer skills and proper etiquette.
Must be capable of being cross trained to assist with Client Care duties as needed
Must be a team player, willing to learn new techniques and treatments with the ability to adapt to change

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $19 – $27 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
