false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONESalary Range: $16.04 to $18.00 Hourly Summary:Under the direction of the Director of Community and Patient Relations, the Facility Maintenance Housekeeper is responsible for daily custodian activities in the health centers, and for maintaining an environment conductive for the delivery of medical care. Is responsible for opening and closing the clinic facility, and for setting alarms accordingly. Is responsible for preventive facility maintenance. Is responsible for facility maintenance inventory, and safekeeping of facility maintenance equipment and appliances. Is responsible for transporting/delivering of mail, and other correspondence and equipment from one clinic site to another or as indicated. Will be using the elevator, when needed, to transport items to the different floors at the sites. Is responsible for maintaining current California Drivers license, automobile insurance and personal automobile. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Facility and Maintenance Duties1. Exam Roomsa. Cleans and disinfects examining tables.b. Cleans and disinfects sink and surroundings. c. Empty and disinfect waste receptacle.d. Cleans desk tops. e. Cleans and disinfects all exposed metal surfaces.f. Cleans and disinfects chairs.g. Cleans and disinfects door handles. h. Cleans and disinfects exam light lamps. 2. Clinical Area and Officea. Cleans and disinfects baby and adult scales.b. Cleans and disinfects waste receptacles. c. Cleans and disinfects all exposed metal surfaces.d. Cleans and disinfects lab counter top and sink.e. Cleans and disinfects utility room counter top and sink.f. Dusts equipment, appliances and counters.g. Vacuums offices, dusts mini blinds and furniture.h. Sanitizes telephones.i. Cleans inside glass partitions. 3. Wash Rooma. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, urinals, commodes, sinks, mirrors, dispensers and wall surfaces.b. Empty waste receptacles, replace receptacle bags.c. Services paper towels, soap, toilet paper, and seat cover dispensers. d. Empty and disinfect sanitary napkin receptacles, replace receptacle bags. 4. Infectious Waste Removala. Removes all collected infectious waste from labeled infectious waste receptacles to the designated infectious waste labeled containers.b. Replaces red infectious waste receptacle bags. 5. Drinking Fountaina. Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, wipes water spillage on the floor. 6. Entrances, Lobbies, Corridors and Stairwaysa. Sweeps and/or vacuums floors.b. Dusts metal and wood surfaces, and art work with treated cloth. c. Cleans spots and marks off walls.d. Cleans entrance doors and partitions.e. Sweeps outside entrances, prior to clinic open hours, after clinic hours, and as needed throughout the day. f. Empty and clean trash receptacles with cleaning solution. g. Dusts, waters and maintains indoor plants. 7. Room Cleaning (Includes all office areas, file rooms, conference room and reception areas)a. Empty waste receptacle and removes trash to designated disposal area.b. Dusts furniture with treated dust cloth. Dusts equipment, counters, partitions, window ledges and blinds with treated cloth. c. Spot cleans walls, partitions and doors.d. Dusts, waters and maintains indoor plants.e. Vacuums. 8. Staff Loungea. Cleans furniture.b. Cleans microwave, oven and refrigerator, and other appliances.c. Dusts mini blinds and assures blinds are always pulled down. d. Replaces water as needed.e. Empty and clean waste receptacles, replaces plastic trash bags. 9. Windowsa. Washes all indoor windows on the first and second floors, and washes outdoor windows on the first floor. 10. Floorsa. Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors.b. Waxes and buffs floors.11. Utility and Facility Maintenancea. Assists in the loading and unloading of supplies.b. Assists in moving furniture.c. Checks to assure adequate indoor and outdoor lighting, ventilation, and plumbing daily and corrects as needed.d. Checks walls daily, plasters walls and paints as needed. e. Checks carpentry daily and corrects carpentry as needed. f. Maintains updated facility maintenance inventory. g. Responsible for equipment supply safekeeping.h. Changes A/C air filters monthly.i. Regulates outdoor lights consistent with time changes. 12. Grounds and Landscapea. Sweeps and removes trash from sidewalk, parking area and landscape area daily. b. Pulls weeds weekly.c. Waters plants and grass area daily utilizing the sprinkler system.d. Repaints outdoor walls as needed.e. Maintains landscape.Other Dutiesa. Performs messenger duties as needed using personal automobile.b. Available on-call for emergency clean up, deliveries using personal automobile. c. Responsible for following all Agency safety and health standards, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices.d. Actively participates in the Quality Management Program.e. Actively participates in the Infection Control Program, Emergency Preparedness Program and Environment of Care and Safety Programs.f. Responsible for equipment sterilization as assigned and follows safety and infection control policy and procedures.g. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS:One year of custodial experience, preferably in a health care agency.Knowledge of inventory systems, ability to prepare and maintain purchase orders.Current California driver’s license, automobile insurance and use of personal automobile.No changes in work schedule unless prior approval is obtained.Work schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed.Overtime requires prior signed authorization.Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team oriented environment.Reliable, trustworthy and must maintain confidentiality due to nature of work responsibility.
