The ASPCA’s Community Medicine (CM) team provides expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people through our stationary and mobile veterinary clinics, serving the most underserved communities in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. We help pet owners overcome barriers to care, bringing quality services directly to the communities that need us most and partially or fully subsidizing the cost of basic and preventive care. CM treats people and pets with dignity and respect, assisting pet owners in making informed decisions about their pets’ health and wellbeing regardless of their financial circumstances. What you’ll do:

Assist in the maintenance, stocking and repairs for a fleet of four mobile veterinary clinics deployed by the ASPCA’s Los Angeles Mobile Veterinary Services (MVS) program, where animal well-being, teamwork and serving the community are at the core of our work. The logistics team ensures every mobile clinic is cleaned, stocked, safety inspected and ready for service every day. The available shifts are either Tuesday – Saturday 6am-2pm or Tuesday – Saturday 10am-6pm.

include but are not limited to:Mobile Veterinary Operations (60%)Deployment of mobile vehicles for morning shifts and receive of mobile vehicles in evening shifts. Stock mobile spay/neuter clinics with medical/non-medical supplies as requested by medical team and ensure all mobile clinics are operationally readyCommunicate and facility maintenance or repair needs promptly to the MVS Logistic ManagerProvide daily disinfection and maintenance to Logistic Center daily. This includes trash removal, sweeping, mopping and disinfection of office areas, garage, and bathrooms.Load and unload medical grade oxygen tanks to and from mobile clinicsTrack and maintain IT equipment entrusted to drivers and check out during morning shift & check in during evening shiftSterilize surgical packs dailyPerform daily inspections of the exterior of mobile vehicles for damageEnsure all mobile vehicles are clean inside and out and organizedPerform supply runs to clinic team working in the field as neededAssist with minor repairs and maintenance as neededAbide by the FMCSA, DOT and ASPCA road safety guidelinesPerform laundry duties daily to ensure mobile clinics are fully stockedMonitor supply levels: work with Logistics Team to ensure all vehicles are stocked with necessary supplies & supplies are reordered according to ASPCA processesSupport drivers maneuvering vehicles in and around garage space by spotting themCommunicate vehicle maintenance needs to MVS Logistics ManagerCoordinate generator/vehicle maintenance and repairs with external vendors to reduce clinic down time.Ability to drive mobile vehicles to various repair/maintenance vendors or clinic locations as neededTransport MSNC portable generator, to and from locations, when neededPark and maneuver mobile clinics and transport vehicles within our garageAdministrative and Operational Support (40%):Maintain safe, organized, and clean spaceAssist MVS Logistics Manager with training and onboarding of Logistics teamAbility to be cross- trained to assist with mobile operations intake, community outreach and attend vaccine events as neededUnderstand and be able to successfully use our medical records software, DigitailProvide accurate and responsible oversight of petty cash, change funds and other finance protocols managed through the field lotEnsure field lot is maintained, clean and organized, adhering to all safety requirements put forth by the ASPCA Safety and Security department and report all safety concerns promptlyReceive deliveries and cross reference invoices to ensure all items ordered are received before stocking inventory. unload packages and deliveriesMake copies of file, and stock clinics with daily flyers / invoices / client forms, etc.Track Invoices/receipts and process expense reports according to ASPCA policyMeet with internal departments finance, procurement monthly Coordinate and distribute received packages for internal departments (RELO, PeeWee Fosters)Track and distribute WAG/Spore testing QuarterlyWork closely with medical staff managers to ensure staff concerns are addressed promptlyAttend all staff meetings and training classes as requiredPerform additional duties as assignedExemplify the ASPCA’s

Qualifications:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with assistance, Ability to operate large vehicles, Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office., Excellent communication skills, Fluency in English required, bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred, Must provide a valid driver’s license upon hire and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history.
