Remote Lead DevOps Engineer

As a formative member of the engineering and cloud infrastructure/security teams, you will help define and build the infrastructure, cloud services, deployment tooling, and workflows that empower development teams across the company. Ideal candidates will have at least 7 years of technical experience (including development contributions to a software product) and the skills to automate the build, test, and release of services while ensuring development, staging, and production environments are stable, scalable, and secure. 

What You’ll Do
Act as the Subject Matter Expert on all things DevOps, automation, and repeatability Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across several environments Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure through Terraform and / or AWS CDK Implement and operate an Istio service mesh Implement and operate observability services such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki Implement, automate, and maintain security at all layers of the infrastructure Build simple, clean Gitlab CI pipelines and troubleshoot when needed
Your Education and Experience
Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Gitlab CI, Linux, and containers Experience with Helm, Istio, and Prometheus Experience building, deploying, and maintaining systems and services in AWS Experience with database management, specifically SQL Experience as a developer contributing to at least one software product Experience with IT-related topics, specifically Layer 2 and 3 networking Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred 7+ years of relevant experience

Experience working in regulated industries and environments Knowledge of SOC2, HIPAA, HITRUST, or other compliance programs and standards Experience with advanced networking and security concepts and tooling Experience working and communicating effectively with a geographically dispersed team Experience with Jira and Confluence
