Seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer for an opportunity in the Production Division.

The selected candidate will serve as a technical advisor to the US Government focusing on risk management, reliability, and mission assurance of a portfolio of engineering and integration efforts for the next generation of Military GPS User Equipment.

The selected candidate will apply systems engineering, software engineering, and risk and reliability engineering methods to assess system and software architectures, designs, development activities, testing, integration, software release management, and sustainment processes to ensure enterprise requirements, CONOPS, and architectural models are accurately derived, allocated, and applied to development efforts, promoting the use of technology and platform efficiencies.

In this role the selected candidate will provide insight to the Government and development contractors on identified risks, issues, opportunities, and associated mitigation strategies and corrective approaches to meet technical objectives and schedule milestones.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serve as a senior advisor to a team comprised of diversely skilled engineers servicing a major portion of a large project or working across projects, and interfacing regularly with customer and contractor program management
  • Provide engineering expertise at technical interchange meetings with Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel
  • Act as senior technical authority, consultant, and primary investigator.

    May lead or organize interfaces between customer and other Aerospace technical and management staff.

  • Perform and document technology/software risk assessments, recommendations, analysis and trade studies for a diverse set of contractor software frameworks and applications
  • Conduct and/or lead studies of system and software quality, design adequacy, and compliance with mission requirements to identify and recommend mitigation approaches for issues
  • Assess contractor software development practices, procedures, and performance
  • Review contract deliverables and provide technical guidance throughout acquisition and development lifecycles

Minimum Requirements:

  • Systems engineering skills including the ability to understand and explain how specific issues are connected to the broader program execution and development
  • Project leadership skills, including the ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Demonstrated high level of innovation and creativity in programmatic problem solving
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science, Software or Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field
  • 8 or more years of relevant professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and software engineering
  • Willing to travel domestically approx.

  • This position requires an active Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government.

    U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • A track record of demonstrating systems engineering skills, including the ability to understand and explain how specific issues are connected to the broader program execution and development
  • Experience with project leadership, including the ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Demonstrated high level of innovation and creativity in programmatic problem solving, having established and maintained effective working relationships with customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science, Software or Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field
  • 12 or more years of relevant professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering, software engineering, and/or program management environments
  • Willing to travel domestically approx.
