Opportunity Overview
The Senior Asset Manager utilizes their skills, as a seasoned professional, to manage the planning, coordination, and administration of the organizations’ assets/inventory across all TuSimple locations.
Specifically, this incumbent collaborates with teams across the organization to create and manage the inventory process and workflow, while ensuring data integrity across the Asset Management System (AMS).
From office chairs to software licenses and specialized sensors, the Senior Asset Manager will have a deep understanding of the totality of TuSimple’s assets and will ensure the appropriate systems and policies are in place to track all inventory, undertake spend analysis, and comply with SOX and Export Control Requirements.
Critical thinking, being self-motivated, and communicating effectively are paramount to the success of the Senior Asset Manager.
The incumbent understands the impact of their work and shows tremendous ownership; they help TuSimple establish increasingly sophisticated systems that allow for meticulous tracking, cost savings, and compliance with external regulatory bodies.
Role Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Asset/Inventory Management System at TuSimple.
Ensure the organization meets requirements of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) through the proper maintenance of records and performance of property management processes.
Provides program support to ensure programs are knowledgeable of asset/inventory requirements and are properly managing all company assets.
Manages the administration and recording of new asset acquisitions, transfers, and dispositions using asset management/inventory software programs.
Collaborates with Procurement, IT, and Facilities to ensure inventory management goals are met and sustained on an ongoing basis.
Develops and maintains innovative ways to optimize inventory control procedures.
Sustains processes that ensure timely inventory tagging for all TuSimple assets.
Experience & Skills Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
8 years of experience in asset management, or a combination of experience in asset management, inventory control, operations, logistics, supply chain, and/or procurement.
2 years leadership and/or management experience directly or indirectly supervising others.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio) and/or Google Workspace/G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and database management
Working knowledge of PRISM, Oracle APEX, SAP Business Warehouse or similar asset management/inventory business system or similar business systems
Experience in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and experience working in teams as both a member and a leader
Knowledge of applicable government/customer property requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to listen well and communicate effectively
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio) and/or Google Workspace/G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and database management
Working knowledge of PRISM, Oracle APEX, SAP Business Warehouse or similar asset management/inventory business system or similar business systems

Ability to travel 20% of the time to either our San Diego or Tucson office
