and Canada payrolls.nn nn n nn nn Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To nn Maintain a thorough understanding of current multistate tax laws for income tax, state reciprocity agreements, and unemployment tax to ensure appropriate assignment of tax codes to employees Review and analyze payroll data and reports for accuracy and resolves discrepancies to ensure accurate posting to payroll records Ensure all payroll operations and communications comply with company policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations Recommend, design and work with the Payroll team to execute plans to modify operations and procedures to comply with various federal, state, and local regulations Performs timekeeping administration, validates timesheet hours, and reconciles data timekeeping imports into the payroll system Verify and perform basic calculations of payroll data received from various sources (e.g.mid-cycle new hires.

LOAs and terminations, retroactive pay, salary adjustments, benefits adjustments, leave balances, etc.) for the purpose of providing summaries to other personnel, and/or ensuring compliance with established guidelines Understand tax rules for advanced payroll tasks such as wage garnishments, stock options, deferred comp distributions, & third-party sick pay Manage and reconcile requests for paid time off, ensure time off requests are recorded timely and correctly Balance and control earnings and deduction totals, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions Gather payroll data and prepare special reports for management and internal departments Assist with various annual audits including, but not limited to minimum wage increases, Sick/Vacation Plan Assignments, WC Audits, Annual Compliance Audits, etc.

Maintain process documentation of payroll and payroll-related activities Timely and effectively communicate with management and internal departments regarding impacting transactions Understand and apply payroll compliance and internal controls Perform other related duties as required and assigned nn n nn nn Required Experience nn Bachelors degree is preferred 3+ years of progressive Payroll experience in a multi-state mid to large size company CPP or FPC certification is preferred Prior experience with Ultimate Software (UKG / Ultipro) is highly preferred Knowledge of principles and practices of payroll and personnel administration Payroll processing courses and/or training a plus Excellent interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
