As a College Recruiter, you are a key member of the Talent Acquisition team, responsible for recruiting talent for our nationally-ranked Internship program and entry-level positions on our Merchandising teams in Buying and Planning along with additional corporate roles. You will be responsible for promoting the “Our Burlington” brand on campus, participating in campus hiring events, facilitating the selection process for entry-level roles and interns and building strong relationships with hiring managers, which are all critical components of the company’s success. Our recruiters are proactive and engaged brand ambassadors, using a variety of new and traditional media and strategies to promote “Our Burlington” culture. This year in particular, with shifts to a more virtual recruiting strategy, innovation, flexibility and sourcing skills will be critical to success in this position. This position can be based in our Los Angeles, California or Burlington, New Jersey office.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline using creative sourcing methods to engage top talent.
  • Build and leverage strong relationships with hiring managers, key members of the Burlington leadership team, department heads, the Talent Acquisition team, Human Resources Business Partners and other associates internally.
  • Engage potential candidates with the Burlington brand by organizing and attending on-campus events (on-campus or virtual) including registration, identification of attendees, event preparation, presentations, participation and follow-up.
  • Plan interview days and execute all follow-up communications to students and hiring managers.
  • As a growing and evolving team we are always looking at how to improve our processes and make them more efficient. As a recruiter on the team we look to you to have a voice and share ideas and recommendations.
  • Play an active role in planning, executing, and continuing to improve our nationally-ranked 10-week summer internship program and new co-op program.
  • Create and conduct presentations for students, faculty, and Burlington leaders.
  • Assist new hires through the onboarding process to ensure successful transition.
  • Research and share latest trends in college recruiting, including social media, inclusion & diversity, video interviewing, employee referral programs, etc.
  • Understand, maintain and utilize key metrics and reporting.
  • Build and leverage strong relationships with university career services office, professors, and student organizations externally.
  • Additional projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience in campus recruiting preferred, event planning experience is a plus
  • Retail industry or high volume industry experience
  • Experience with common recruiting technology; Applicant Tracking Systems (iCIMs, Taleo, etc.) and sourcing platforms (LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, HireVue, etc.) preferred

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to create and facilitate presentations to small and large groups (in person and virtual)
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies (Handshake, Symplicity, HireVue, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (significant experience with Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience leveraging various social media tools (Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to promote the talent brand
  • Ability to see beyond the tactical, to understand how the Recruiting function impacts the overall health of the business
  • Basic knowledge of EEOC laws and regulations
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the year and attend events on evenings and weekends as needed
