As a Turnkey Integrator with a field-based national direct team of fall protection specialists, our complete product portfolio of innovative rigid, cable, anchor, and passive systems provide customers the simplicity needed to keep their people safe.The job of Lead Installation Technician consists of completing work orders in a timely manner by fabricating, inspecting, and installing fall protection components safely in accordance to the budgeted time frame.
The position is responsible for overseeing company Installation Technicians and local contract labor to complete installation.
Good communication skills are essential, to include patience and professionalism when interacting with customers and coworkers.
The position requires the ability to flex and think on your feet based on realized onsite conditions, embody strong problem-solving skills, be detail oriented and deliver excellent customer service.
The position is for full-time employment with opportunity for regular overtime, and will require regular weekly travel up to 95 percent of working hours based on jobsite locations.
The Lead Installation Technician position is critical to the company’s ability to meet customer demands for implementation of their fall protection safety systems to keep workers safe and protect them when working at heights.*Essential Job Functions** Complete AWS D1.1 compliant welding of manufactured products to existing steel structure according to plans in proper location* Clean and prep steel with proper tools prior to installation of products* Measure and upload welding gauge photos for inspection by CWI* Welds must pass in-house or onsite CWI inspection* Clean welds as necessary, spray with cold galvanizing compound after weld inspection* Use SMAW (Stick) welding processes in the field (flat, vertical, and overhead position required)* Weld in working conditions as noted on base job description, including from man lifts* Maintain proper welding PPE (supplied by company) and safety protocols at all times* Fabricate and install products using standardized practices and methods* Maintain equipment, tools, vehicles, etc.
for the purpose of ensuring availability, function, and safety* Transport various items (e.G.
tools, equipment, supplies) to and while on the job site* Operate company and rental vehicles safely* Coordinate and communicate effectively, electronically and verbally, with project managers, clients and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders in a safe and timely fashion* Assist other personnel as required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work* Read and interpret building plans and drawings* Compare actual site conditions to engineered drawings for discrepancies, coordinate with onsite trades as necessary, and communicate any issues to project management* Perform basic math calculations* Supervise/oversee small team of employees and/or contract labor on the jobsite to maintain safety and productivity* Perform quality control and standardization for all phases of installation* Proactively monitor, track and take necessary action to complete projects and report daily progress to project management* Perform client training on system use upon completion of installation* Train new employees on safety and installation processes and procedures* Regularly lift items up to 50-lbs for material mobilization and system installation* Complete work at heights, such as on rooftops, elevated platforms, or other areas where fall protection personal protective equipment may be required for safety if other guards are not in place* Access the roof via aerial lift, ladders, platforms, or other means to perform work and mobilize materials safely within company policies and procedures_Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions_.*Competencies** Ability and intent to work safely when engaged in tasks and job functions* Ability to follow instructions and procedures as directed by management and/or supervisors* Ability to read engineered drawings, plans and blueprints* Ability to direct communication with client, contractors, coworkers and other trades effectively* Ability to be flexible and adapt to schedule changes and field condition changes* Ability to lift 50-lbs of metal and other products daily* Ability to work on flat or sloped rooftops or elevated surfaces in hot/cold temperatures* Ability to satisfy personal protective equipment requirements and wear properly (provided by company)* Self-arranged transportation to and from work each working day* Ability and interest to travel up to 95% of working hours based on schedule requirements* Ability to learn field construction means and methods* Gain AWS D1.1 qualifications by passing 3G and 4G V-Groove with backer, E7018, weld test or equivalent (performed in-house, or present outside qualifications)* Ability to maintain proper production rate while field welding in various conditions* Detail-oriented* Customer service driven* Leadership qualities* Self-motivated with positive attitude* Team player*Supervisory Responsibility*Installation Technician, contract labor support personnel*Work Environment*This position works in a variety of environments in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.
This position is always in a new environment and attention to detail to practice safe working techniques is always demanded.*Physical Demands*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read prints, count onsite inventory and use their hands and feet when working to install systems.
Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment.
Must be able to climb ladders and move items that can weigh up to 50 pounds, bend, climb, crouch, and twist.
Must be able to work on your feet for 10+ hours a day.*Position Type/Expected Hours of Work*This is a full-time position.
Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.M.
to 4:00 p.M.
This position does often have to adjust daily working hours to meet the demands of the client’s location.*Travel*You will be required to travel up to 95% of the time.
