We provide our team members with the environment and support to do amazing work, because each and every one of them plays a vital role in our commitment to care.The Center for Organizational Readiness and Educations (CORE), a department within UCLA Health’s Human Resources, seeks a Learning and Development Specialist whose talent for designing and delivering trainings rivals their passion for supporting the development of UCLA Health employees.

The Learning and Development Specialist at CORE is a collaborative team member who is comfortable delivering virtual, in-person leadership and professional development trainings.Reporting to the Manager of Learning and Development, the successful candidate will bring to UCLA Health the best and most innovative examples of learning and development practices in both training design and delivery, as well as the facilitation of a variety of performance-based learning programs and events.Primary Responsibilities:Provide high quality trainings to employees at all levels of the organization.In collaboration with the Learning and Development (L& D) team, develop virtualand in-person instructor-led trainings including the creation and development of all learning materials and guides (PowerPoint presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids / handouts, etc.).Build relationships with health system leaders and internal client groups to understand their training needs and develop and deliver tailored curriculum.Contribute to team projects that support the organization’s development such as creating system-wide learning content and supporting employee engagement initiatives.Qualifications The Learning and Development Specialist must possess a combination of skills and abilities to successfully manage a complex set of responsibilities in a high profile, academic health sciences organization, including:At least four years of related training/development experience.Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Training, Human Resources, or related discipline preferredExperience and/or certification in instructional design strongly preferredExceptional presentation, consensus-building, and communication skills.Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies; formal design and development approaches, adult learning best practices.Experience working with virtual learning platforms (Adobe Creative Suite, Storyline or Vyond) and building digital/virtual learning programs.Well-developed interpersonal skills to represent CORE and, by extension, UCLA Health at all trainings and special programming events.Organizational skills to undertake multiple assignments, identify priorities and meet deadlines.Strong initiative and judgment to make recommendations, identify needs and resolve issues.Strong interpersonal skills including sensitivity, tact and professionalism when working with course participants, team members and internal and external stakeholders.Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) preferredAdditional training certifications for teaching emotional intelligence, crucial conversations or similar, preferred.UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
