The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients while adhering to compliance standards. The candidate should be able to recognize patient needs and prioritize those needs with the needs outlined by physicians. As well, the RN monitors and guides nursing activities performed by all nursing personnel on an assigned shift when serving as Charge Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assure quality care by adhering to standards set by the physicians
- Provide care education to patients in person or over the phone
- Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA)
- Actively participate in treatment team meetings and treatment plans
- Perform clinical procedures within the scope of practice as directed by Physician
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing and safety procedures, especially in the event of a medical emergency
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Professional Nurse with current licensure
- Accepting new graduates; Two (2) yrs experience with mentally ill patients or equivalent in an inpatient psychiatric facility preferred; Infection Control experience an asset
- CPR, ACLS, and BCLS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance
- Candidate must be able to lift and position patients on endoscopy stretcher and transport patients
