Description:Apply Today!Applicants that meet qualifications will receive a text with additional questions from our MODERN HIRE screening and interview system.Providence is calling a GI Lab Technician II (Full-Time/Day Shift) to Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Mission Hills, CA.We are seeking a GI Lab Technician II who will be responsible for providing assistance to the GI physicians in diagnostic and interventional procedures in the GI lab by providing safe and efficient patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve quality patient outcomes.In this position you will:Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expectedRespect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patientsWork in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards.
Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotlineProvide assistance to physician during all GI endoscopic proceduresResponsible for proper set-up of the procedure room with appropriate equipment and suppliesResponsible for proper clean-up, sterilization or disinfection and maintenance of all endoscopic equipmentMaintain complete and accurate documentation of all procedures and care provided and assure accurate reporting to other healthcare personnelUtilize recommended practices and standards as stated in policies and procedures and as directed by the Registered NurseAssist in ordering and organizing supplies for the GI labAssist in the GI lab maintenance, including but not limited to, maintaining inventory in procedure rooms, storage cabinets and checking in new productsFollow correct procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous infectious wastePerform daily and weekly environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenanceDemonstrate a through knowledge of endoscopic procedures performed in the GI lab and reprocessing of endoscopesParticipate in Staff meetings and attends all mandatory staff in-servicesMaintain all daily logsComply with all applicable infection control and safety proceduresDemonstrate awareness of current state, federal and local lawsUse appropriate reporting mechanisms as required by state lawsDemonstrate commitment to education and sharing of knowledge:Assist in the orientation of new personnel to the departmentObtain ongoing education consistent with level and area of practiceMaintain current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure/certificationsQualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Education to meet certification, license or registration requirementMedical Assistant Certification, Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or Surgical Technology Certificate and current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care ProvidersPreferred qualifications for this position include:5 years health care experience in a GI labAbout the organization you will serve:Facey Medical Group is a multi-specialty medical group with over 160 physicians providing care to the growing population in the North & East regions of Los Angeles & Ventura Counties.
