The Clinical Documentation Specialist is primarily responsible for managing one or more processes/initiatives/projects that support appropriate clinical documentation, MSDRG assignment, utilization and regulatory compliance and querying physician for clear and concise documentation.Duties include data collection, trending, analysis, CDI review, MSDRG assignment, and track and trend The Program Evaluating for Payment Patterns Electronic Report (Pepper report) any identified opportunities.

The Clinical Documentation Specialist will educate members of the health care team regarding documentation guidelines, including attending physicians, allied health practitioners, nursing and case management.Educates physicians regarding appropriate documentation necessary to accurately reflect severity of illness, mortality statistics, and length of stay of patients.Qualifications:Degrees: Bachelors Additional Qualifications: MD or Foreign Medical Graduate Doctor.

Medical Doctor with a minimum of 2 years experience in utilization review/quality review and/or other related clinical experience in an acute care facility required.

Minimum of 2 years of acute care clinical documentation specialist, or coding experience preferred.
