You’ll provide oversight of unit operations on the assigned shift.
Address problems, concerns and/or unanticipated events in a manner that optimizes the smooth functioning of the unit.
Serve as a role model and preceptor to unit staff.
In fulfilling all responsibilities, consider not only the unit perspective but also a broader organizational perspective.
Prepare monthly work schedules, make daily patient assignments, schedule breaks and meal periods.
Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.Our Intensive Care Unit is a 12 bed Medical and Respiratory MICU caring for patients with acute medical issues such as sepsis, GI bleeding, post code blue and respiratory issues.
On this unit, our registered nurses typically have a 1:2 ratio and 1:1 ratio patients that meet the criteria.
