Looking to hire a remote Civil Designer to utilize MicroStation on Substation Design Projects.
The designer will be working on civil related project within the Substation Design and Engineering group. Most of the interaction will be with the CAD design lead and Civil engineers. The Civil Engineer provides drafting red-&-green mark-ups to the designer in PDF format utilizing Bluebeam software. Drafting is completed by designer utilizing Bentley MicroStation. The designer needs to have working knowledge of basic CAD standards and drawing requirements, and principles, to ensure compliance with utility requirements, Substation department standards, and jurisdictional codes. Experience with civil site CAD drafting and foundation/concrete and/or structural steel detailing design experience is desired but not a requirement. The designer should have an understanding of site surveys and geo referencing or geographic coordinates systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
The designer will assists in preparation of engineering plan sets, designs, and specifications for permitting and/or construction drawing packages including but not limited to:
– Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Plan
– Site Plans
– Grading Plans and Details
– Drainage Plans and Details
– Fencing Plans
– Foundation Plans
– Structural Plans
The designer needs to have computer-aided design (CAD) experience utilizing applications such as, but not limited to:
– Bentley MicroStation (V8i or Connect) – CAD platform (experience desired)
– AutoCAD – CAD platform
– ProjectWise – CAD file management system
– Bluebeam – PDF file design and editing software
