VP Group Creative Director

The VP, Group Creative Director will act as a key player in facilitating all aspects of creative marketing for Company’s Entertainment Marketing brand clients. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Entertainment Marketing and Design, the ideal candidate will be a proven leader who motivates, inspires, and drives progressive creative. A creative and strategic thinker with an outstanding ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-level results. The role demands flawless execution, bold innovation, passion, and optimism. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and experience with the development of compelling traditional and multiplatform media to drive and develop the best-in-class work for our client’s audiences and consumers and reinforce the agency’s reputation as a leader in the advertising space. Superb verbal and written communication skills will be critical for success in this role, as well as strong presentation skills.

As a VP, Group Creative Director, you will be responsible for setting the vision for how the company will show up across every brand touch point and working across all creative disciplines to bring that vision to life. This position knows how to tell stories, on any platform, that drives engagement. You have a pulse on creative trends in digital marketing and culture and a creative sensibility that extends across content genres. You excel at building strong cross-functional relationships in fast paced organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop strategic, cut-through ideas, stories and messaging that connects with our business partners and consumers in order to drive business growth
  • Inspirational team leader with proven ability to develop forward-thinking creative campaigns that enhance client’s brand position, deepen their audience engagement and drive connection
  • Manage highly visible and complex projects that have wide impact across the business
  • Creative power-house with an extensive track record of delivering world-class creative
  • Confident and effective communicator, able to articulate clear goals, plans, and achievements to creative teams and senior leadership
  • Proven leader with demonstrated experience to nurture and motivate a large creative team to deliver both quantity and quality of output while maintaining strong morale
  • Dynamic and engaging presenter of creative ideas and concepts
  • Detail and deadline-oriented to ensure projects are on time and budget. Able to work efficiently and react quickly to change
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional studio team leaders and marketing colleagues across the company
  • Ensure consistency and efficacy of creative, working within the client’s established brand guidelines
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: curious, fast, adaptive and agile
  • Ensures budgets and timelines appropriately balance creative requirements and client needs
  • Anticipates staffing needs and works collaboratively with the Director of Creative Resources to identify and allocate resources efficiently
  • Help bring in and oversee agency partners and freelancers to make the work great
  • Volunteers to lead new business efforts and knows who to engage to ensure a winning effort

Qualifications: 

  • Strong visual storyteller 
  • Experience writing creative briefs and leading editorial/copy direction 
  • Portfolio of work including clip based and original shoot projects/campaigns
  • A portfolio featuring a wide range of creative campaigns, a diversity of design ideas and approaches to solving problems with a focus on articulating strategic, breakthrough ideas across a myriad of channels
  • Proven success leading large, multidisciplinary creative teams to success within the Entertainment Marketing industry
  • A solid understanding of how creativity can achieve business objectives while still meeting and encouraging brand standards for aesthetic and communication quality
  • Can collaborate with team members at all levels to ensure projects are effective and meet brand guidelines, compliance and overall project goals.

  • The ability to adapt to new ideas, processes, and business problems with ease and enthusiasm
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualize creatively
  • Deep experience working in a full-service entertainment agency and/or studio within a Creative Services/Creative Marketing department
  • Strong verbal, presentation and writing skills; ability to create sincere, authentic bonds with clients
  • Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite and Google product suite/Microsoft 365 applications, and an aptitude for learning technology tools quickly
  • Project and program management skills (work planning, tracking, prioritization)
  • High adaptability quotient; someone who can quickly pick up new skills/information, and work in fluid/dynamic environments with multiple stakeholders 

Education/Experience: 

  • 12-15+ years of creative experience in advertising within a fast-paced agency environment
  • 5+ years of experience leading creative teams in advertising, marketing and/or entertainment industries
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
