Machine Operator – Plasma/Laser

Aerotek is looking to hire candidates for a Plasma Operator for a Steel Manufacturing company in the Memphis area.

Shift: Monday-Friday (Saturdays and Overtime as needed) 2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm Will train on 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) for 2-4 weeks.

Description: Will train for 2-4 weeks on process, basic QA, and filling out paperwork.

Responsible for operating the Plasma cutter to cut different sizes of steel materials.

Replace heads on the plasma cutter.

Perform set-ups and changeovers on machinery according to work orders.

Inspect products using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.

Pull program from pre-loaded setting on HMI screen to run different cuts.

Move products to different locations using forklifts or overhead cranes when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: 2-3 years of experience operating either a Laser, Plasma Cutter, CNC, or Brake Press machine.

Ability to read and interpret Blueprints, Micrometers, Calipers, and Gauges.

Ability to use a tape measure down to 1/16″ and 1/32″.

Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled and dirty environment.
