Administrative Supervisor Nursing

Responsibilities: Establishes and maintains a leadership presence in order to provide administrative and clinical support to all staff.

Maintains collegial relationships with the interdisciplinary team to promote optimum care of patients.

Provides clinical and educational support to staff.

Participates in performance improvement activities and routine documentation reviews.

Acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.

Qualifications: Education/Qualifications: BS degree or completion within one year from date of hire Masters degree in healthcare related field with an additional 2 years of below experience may be considered.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nursing beginning at the staff nurse level with assumption of positions of increasing responsibility.

Licensure/Certificates: NYS Licensure as a Registered Nurse.

BLS and ACLS must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.

Skills: Functions as the on-site hospital administrator.

Understands and promotes the Mission, Vision, Values, Strategies and Tactics of Bassett Healthcare.

Facilitates and coordinates flow of patients and staff to maintain optimal hospital operations.

Assess and organizes the resolution of clinical and operational issues.

Develops strong working relationships with colleagues and collaborates effectively with all levels of staff.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist with care of our primary patient populations.

Demonstrates the ability to precept and mentor staff.

Creates a can do atmosphere throughout the organization.

Provides proactive administrative and staff support in a relationship based care environment.

Advocates for patients, families and staff.

Functions as an administrative liaison to internal and external customers of Bassett Healthcare.

Promotes fiscally responsible resource management.

Promotes professional accountability.

Demonstrates support of continuous quality improvement philosophy.

Recognizes and appreciates the diversity in staff.

Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling required throughout the shift.

Ability to lift and position patients required.

Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA.
