Tax Accountant – Senior

  • Bachelor degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business strongly desired.
  • Experience in state and local transaction tax required.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state indirect and transaction tax laws with the ability to research and document complex tax issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Identify problems/issues and follow-up with the proper resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop software packages including Word, Excel and Access.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on numerous projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Hybrid work from home schedule

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain journal entries for the accurate recording of tax liabilities and perform GL account reconciliations
  • Create and/or revise spreadsheets and processes to improve the tax return filing procedures.
  • Undertake recurring and special projects including utilization of support personnel as needed.
  • Resolve directly with state and local authorities any tax notices or issues
  • Act as Tax Department subject matter expert/project point person on intra/inter departmental projects or initiatives.
  • Prepare documentation to support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) controls and procedures.
  • Perform research on complex tax issues.
