Position Summary: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for accounting work associated with processing check requests, accounts payable and accounts receivable entries, sales tax reports, and posting cash receipts, child support & garnishments, and sick, vacations, and travel time for the Home Care Services (HCS) program.Required Education and Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Accounting2 years minimum of professional experience in accounting or related business areasProficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet softwarePreferred experience with CYMA accounting softwareKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles: accrual accounting, prepays, fixed assets, revenue recognitionExperience with the 1099 process, including TIN research and obtaining missing W9 formsAbility to work efficiently with minimal supervisionStrong data entry and analytical skills, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detailAbility to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally, to build relationships with vendors and staffEssential Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Process and enter cash receipt data into the accounting systemBalance cash receipts and related transactionsProcess check requests and accounts payable invoices by reviewing invoices for appropriate documentation, coding to the proper expense account, and processing paymentsProcess child support and garnishmentsPerform basic account analysis and reconciliationMaintain files and documentation thoroughly and accuratelyOrganize and summarize accounting data and transactions, while preparing relevant spreadsheets and reportsProcess and validate sick and vacation time, mileage reports, and travel time for the HCS programManage vendor files including the 1099 processAssist with year-end audit related tasksPerform incidental office support work in connection with the accounting duties assignedOther duties as assigned.Work Environment: Position requires sitting for long periods of time performing sedentary activities.
Position may require carrying, lifting, or moving objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Work may be fast-paced and stressful at times.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position.
Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
