Senior Investment Operations Associate-Treasury

nnPublicly traded global investment management firm in high growth mode is looking for a high performing Senior Associate-Investment Operations (Treasury) to join the Los Angeles Investment Operations team.

The Investment Operations team works closely with business stakeholders in multiple lines of business as well as various corporate functions.

nn nn n nn nnThe ideal candidate will be responsible for oversight and execution of wire transfer processing and maintaining all SSI’s and related bank information, as well as liquidity/forecasting, cash reporting, collateral management, hedging, and cash optimization.nn nn n nn nn**Currently 100% remote, potential partial remote in the future**nn nn n nn nn Responsibilities: nn Responsible for daily cash management activities Oversee and execute on a variety of controls around capital activity at the firm Develop a strong working knowledge of portfolio structures and banking relationships Produce cash reports for portfolio managers and oversee cash figures used to inform investment decisions Execute FX for currency conversions (settlement) and hedging Responsible for monitoring the usage of credit facilities, borrowing, pay-down, interest payments, and reset requests Responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with various debt facilities Responsible for preparing and maintaining debt work papers Assist with various forecast projection models including GAAP earnings, liquidity and debt compliance projection models Assist with performing budget to actual analysis Assist with preparing various presentations Assess best use for idle cash to optimize yield Daily collateral management activities for margin and cash planning Balance Reporting activities carried out in treasury management system (Hazeltree) Lead and direct projects to improve efficiencies within the cash management and reconciliations processes Develop policy and procedures for the department and ensure our partnership team is trained and aware of any changes Manage through issues that arise urgently and be able to identify and quickly escalate based on risk to firm and impact to clients as well as other internal groups Liaise between the accounting teams, offshore partners, operations and trustees for all portfolio-specific activity and issues, ensuring cross-communication of critical information between firm departments nn n nn nn Qualifications/Experience: nn Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other business related discipline MBA, CFA and/or CPA preferred Minimum of 4 years of experience in global capital markets or investment management firms Experience in Investment Operations, Treasury and Accounting Experience with an alternative or broader asset manager preferred Understanding of bank loans preferred Strong fixed-income product knowledge, CLO’s, CDO’s variable rates securities, and fixed income securities Experience in the management of operational risk from a procedural and regulatory perspective Experienced with a diverse set of investment vehicles such as Institutional Separate Accounts, SMA/Limited Partnerships, Open-End Mutual Funds, Closed-End Funds and UCITs, CLOs, and complex fund structures Hedge fund, Credit or Private Equity experience is a plus Understanding of basis accounting theories nn General Requirements: nn Understanding of Treasury and banking fundamentals Experience with cash management and basic capital activities Understanding of SWIFT and banking protocols Experience with alternative investments, foreign exchange fundamentals Experience with relevant platforms such as Hazeltree Treasury Solutions Expert with Excel for data analysis, including modeling and complex lookups/formulas Ability to extract meaningful information from extensive research and analysis to effectively present facts and findings in a digestible format; a keen eye for attention to detail Experience managing internal and external stakeholders and leading project prioritization discussions to drive product vision and roadmap.
